I have to start with my all time favorite story. I think it totally represents the Rose we all knew and loved so well and why we could love her so easily. As a young teen, Rose envisioned herself making a career of being a hairdresser. She was so enthusiastic about her plan that she asked our sister Judy if she could cut her hair for her. Since it was the day before Easter Sunday, Judy thought the idea was great. She’d have a new do to show off for the holiday. Rose eagerly started snipping away Judy’s hair. Cutting and slashing away through one entire side of the head, Rose suddenly started crying and yelling that she didn’t know what she was doing and she couldn’t do it anymore and she just ran away and left Judy just sitting there. With quite a lopsided hairdo. The day before Easter Sunday. Somehow, more people felt sorry for Rose than they did for Judy. I just love that story. It’s so Rose.
